The Delaware INBRE Travel Award is supported by the University of Delaware INBRE Office in order to enable undergraduate and graduate students affiliated with DE-INBRE to attend a conference/symposium.  Continual professional development is essential for students. It also affords opportunities for presentations within in a professional setting, as well as opportunities for networking and exposure to the latest academic research.

Eligibility: Eligible students are those who were involved in the INBRE program as undergrads, Delaware State University graduate students who are INBRE funded, and students working in current INBRE pilot project labs on the pilot project proposal work.

Awards are limited and must conform to DE-INBRE grant guidelines on allowable travel reimbursements. The policies and procedures for these limited awards are as follows:

1)The applicant should provide an abstract of the work to be presented and conference details.

2) The acceptance letter for the conference organizers should be uploaded in addition to a letter from the research mentor explaining the relevance of the presentation to the student’s INBRE supported work and an itemized budget estimate.

3)The amount of support will be based on the budget not to exceed $500. 

4) Award dollars cannot be spent on food.

5)After the event, awardees must submit a finalized Travel Expense Report with itemized receipts and a Summary Statement to the Delaware INBRE Office (email: info@de-inbre.org) detailing the benefits of the conference to their professional career growth.
